Scenarios are like the "levels" of RollerCoaster Tycoon. In the first game, this was the only way to play (but in the second and third games, various sandbox modes and editors were included). Each scenario is either an empty park for you to build as you please (with land already purchased), or a pre-existing park (with rides, stalls, and guests already present) for you to improve. Some scenarios also have a special constraint, like no marketing allowed or no landscape modification allowed. The second and third games allow users to create their own scenarios, and fans created patches and trainers to allow unofficial scenario creation for the first game.
