Factory Capers is the third park in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. It is the first park that introduces the free rides.

Overview

This park differs significantly from the previous two parks. In this park, custom prices cannot be set for rides, only stalls and the entrance ticket. Thus, the prices of these must be very carefully planned.

Scenario Guide

Remember:
  • The Scenario Guide below is only a suggested strategy for completing this scenario—it may not work for all players.
  • The General Scenario Guide and Hints and Tips articles may also provide helpful information in completing this scenario.
  • There are usually multiple strategies to successfully completing a scenario; these can be discussed on the scenario's discussion page or written down in an existing or additional section of this article.

To make money, you need a higher park rating than around 600 and a lot of shops and stalls as you will only receive money when guests enter the park or buy something at a shop or stall.

Make sure to hire lots of handymen, entertainers and all the other staff. If you receive an award for the safest park, your park rating will increase.

At the beginning you should build a Wooden Roller Coaster and an Information Kiosk. Then take out a loan of $15,000. Build the Steel Squeak model of the Steel Wild Mouse Roller Coaster; it's cheap and has a good excitement rating. If you are short on money after this, demolishing all the scenery can give you an extra $2,000 to $3,000. Once you have done this, start to fill in the rest of the park.

The only hard thing is that it is small and easily runs out of space and that can really bite. Once you get over 50 rides then you can charge $50 for entry and earn some extra cash.

This park is a lot easier than Electric Fields. Once you get your park rating up to 999 it practically freezes, though it is hard work to get a park rating of 999 if you are a beginner. [1]
