Megaworld Park

Overview

A giant park already packed full of rides needs improving.

This enormous park is the final scenario in Loopy Landscapes without any financing. This park is on its last legs and it is very easy to lose in 59 days, making it one of the most difficult scenarios in Loopy Landscapes. The mentioned time span is short and there is barely even time to actually fix the park, so hasty operations are an imperative. This park has a lot of problems, including littered paths and a lack of shops and stalls, but starts with around 2,000 guests. The park also has the most rides in one park in the game (excluding the real park scenarios), including 23 roller coasters, 15 gentle rides, 9 thrill/water rides and 4 transport rides.

The park is littered with large exciting rides, mostly roller coasters, although some of these rides are poorly designed such as Viper (the Steel Corkscrew Roller Coaster in the small desert patch to the right of the park entrance), which has an intensity rating greater than 10!

Scenario Guide

Remember:
  • The Scenario Guide below is only a suggested strategy for completing this scenario—it may not work for all players.
  • The General Scenario Guide and Hints and Tips articles may also provide helpful information in completing this scenario.
  • There are usually multiple strategies to successfully completing a scenario; these can be discussed on the scenario's discussion page or written down in an existing or additional section of this article.

First, PAUSE THE GAME. Hire a large number of handymen and assign them where necessary. (This can be done with pause on, which might prove very useful.) Keep adding stalls until you have each about 20 bathrooms, food/sweet stands and drink stalls, in addition to a few information kiosks and souvenir stands to provide umbrellas when it rains. Place some benches and bins near the exits of the park's roller coasters, as most of them are very intense and nauseating. Use "no entry" signs to block off ride exits to prevent guests from getting lost or wandering into dead-end paths.

After you have covered the basics, some of the rides need fixing. Shorten any ride that takes over 3 minutes and shorten the queue lines, or alternatively, add a second station. The Go Karts should be set to continuous circuit mode to reduce the duration. Check the settings of your rides, as some have very long waiting times between the cars, which causes unneccesary queues.

Scenario finished by Sucinum.

The Steel Corkscrew Roller Coaster Viper in the desert area to the right of the entrance also has too high an intensity rating and can be fixed by flattening the track a bit and removing an inversion or two. Be sure to add a brake near the end to reduce the chance of station brake failure crashes. The excitement rating can rise to about 8 even with minor edits. You should also edit the Inverted Roller Coaster Purple Peril by removing some inversions, decreasing the nausea rating significantly, but it will remain relatively high. Consider demolishing and replacing both of them as another option. The Steel Mini Roller Coaster Spinner will be far less nauseating if you replace spinning cars by non-spinning ones, although the name would be rendered meaningless. You can also remove this ride and replace it by another one you might research.

While you are busy repairing, the park rating will recover steadily and finally, guests will start streaming in your park. You will not need many more rides, but still squeeze in what you research.

Good options would include replacing the Viper Coaster by a smoother design, like a Steel Twister Roller Coaster. Another idea is to delete the Steel Mini Coaster in the mountains on the far-right corner, and use the station of this ride to place an Air-Powered Vertical Coaster.

If you play it on RCT2

Several good options to this scenario if you play it on RCT2 :

  • Replace the Viper Coaster by a smoother design, like a Hyper Coaster,  a Giga Coaster or a Steel Twister Roller Coaster.
  • Expand the stations of the monorail shuttle on the bottom-left corner of the map, to increase it's capacity.
  • Bank the curves of the Wooden and Steel Looping Roller Coasters, to decrease their intensity ratings.
  • Consider demolishing one of the two wooden coasters, to replace it by a ride you might research. I'd suggest you to demolish the Cyclone, which is prone to crashing.
  • If you try to create a Wooden Mine Ride in the Mine Sector, remember to keep it short, as this ride has a very small capacity and will lead to insanely long queues if it's too long.

Other notes

  • This is the only "no financial restrictions" park that does not start from scratch.
  • It is also of note that this park is simply Mega Park (from the base game) with rides.
  • This park has every ride and scenery item from the first RollerCoaster Tycoon game available for research.
  • The Boomerang coaster is identical to the Defibrillator in the scenario Funtopia.
  • If one looks very closely, many of the screenshots for the ride menu are taken from this park, the most noticeable one being the Suspended Single-Rail Roller Coaster and the Corkscrew Roller Coaster.
