Crumbly Woods

From RollerCoaster Tycoon Wiki Wiki, the RollerCoaster Tycoon encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

Overview

A large park with well-designed, but rather old rides. Replace the old rides or add new rides to make the park more popular.

Crumbly Woods is a park with a good groundwork for a park set up already, with good ride designs. But the rides are incredibly old! The average age of the rides in the park is about 13 years. Thus, they have low reliability and high down-time.

Scenario Guide

Remember:
  • The Scenario Guide below is only a suggested strategy for completing this scenario—it may not work for all players.
  • The General Scenario Guide and Hints and Tips articles may also provide helpful information in completing this scenario.
  • There are usually multiple strategies to successfully completing a scenario; these can be discussed on the scenario's discussion page or written down in an existing or additional section of this article.

Although the high demand of guests, you start this scenario with alredy 600 guests, make this scenario goal to have only more 600 guests unless demolish everything and build from scretch.

Crumbly Woods has one major problem, the rides are very outdated. The rides are old, unreliable, and don't bring in as much of a profit. You have three strategies to follow in this objective, you can either replace the old rides with new ones, persevere with the old ones by building new ones, or (what is commonly thought of as the most effective solution) remaking all the rides in their place. First, replace all the gentle and thrill rides and build some thrill rides wherever applicable. Woodchip Woodchip, when remade, can make up to an incredible $8,500 an hour! It is very efficient with a 6 train/3 car set-up. Mean Squeak can also be remade, but you will have to keep an eye on it since the cars can valley (get stuck in the bottom of a hill) and collide with other cars, causing a crash. You can set the wait time to around 7-8 seconds minimum to avoid the problem. Whiplash is the easiest to replace due to a simple layout and it will come in handy in later scenarios, so it is recommended that you save the design for later.

The "fantasyland" area has the most problems and needs the most attention. First off, build either a pathway or a railroad connecting the entrance and the area in order to make sure people can move around the park more quickly and easily. Place an Information Kiosk at the front entrance, and the problem of guests getting lost is almost completely removed. Next, the car ride needs to be scrapped completely. Due to it taking 6 minutes to complete one lap, many guests will complain about the length of the ride, making them unhappy and overall making it more difficult to complete the scenario.

  • If you want a specific and somewhat easy replacement listen to this, if not just do your own thing. You can build either a Go-kart track (when researched), a launched coaster, or both. If you want to build a launched coaster, you must fill the old car ride station with the coaster's station. Then you can build a large left hand turn going into either a single or double loop over the mushrooms. In the chess area you can use the tunnels from the old car ride to give the ride some excitement. Transfer by a small tunnel into the far corner (look for a pumpkin house) and have a sharp turn around the buildings there, you can replace the fencing lost later. Then make a light hill down into the candy area and have a helix around as much of the candy as possible (stay at least three spaces above the ground if you want the go kart track in there, too; if not disregard this) and have some zig-zags before re-entering the station. The track can range anywhere from 1,600 to 2,800 ft. give or take. You should be able to make a successful circuit with 6 cars to the train with a launch anywhere from 40-45 mph (don't go too high or the ride will be too intense!) and it will have an excitement rating above 6.60 and the intensity rating will be less than 6.50; perfect for the park guests.
  • If you want the Go-kart track by itself just completely replace the car ride with the track and make it continuous circuit so the lines aren't too long. If you want to inter-twine the go-karts with the roller coaster then you should place the station under the "zig-zag" area of the coaster and have it follow the exact same path the car ride did over the station. You can twist the go karts around the launched coaster to boost excitement even more for both of them. Leave the flat area next to the go karts open so guests can access the ride. No landscaping is needed to create the pathway for the Go-karts, just split the path from the roller coaster's exit.

This will take up a lot of your time to get to the required objective, but you can rely on advertising to make up for it. This is a rather challenging objective thanks to a limited time from using the most effective strategy.
