In Roller Coaster Tycoon screenshots are snapped when the screenshot selection is clicked from the Save drop-down menu, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 the default hotkey for taking screenshots is CTRL+S, in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, this shortcut was changed to F10. all three games have the option to change it in the options menu.

TP4 coaster preview files can be made from Roller Coaster Tycoon .PCX screenshot files using third party software MakeTP4.exe ©1999 Patrick J. Campbell. They will be displayed as a result of clicking the camera button on the bottom of the build selection scroll when the track description (.TD4) and the track picture (.TP4) filenames match.
