Roller Coaster Designer is a game mode in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 accessed from Game Tools on the start screen. This is a sandbox-like mode which allows the player to freely create custom tracks for any type of rollercoaster.
The player can select up to four different types from the entire list of rollercoaster types. In this mode, cash and people do not exist. The map is a flat area. Only rides can be placed, as scenery, paths, and land-altering are unavailable.
