FreeRCT was an effort to create an open source clone of RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 without using the games' original sprites. It used Linux as the native platform. The project started in 2011 and was abandoned in 2016, being still in an early stage of development.
