To complete Dragon's Cove, you will need to finish the roller coasters one by one and make money off them, since its most likely you'll run out before finishing all 5 roller coasters. Start off with finishing the Steel Roller Coaster, since its the easiest to get the excitement rating up (because of the Vertical Loops and coaster tracks going through it). You can build it underground. Remember:
  • The Scenario Guide below is only a suggested strategy for completing this scenario—it may not work for all players.
  • The General Scenario Guide and Hints and Tips articles may also provide helpful information in completing this scenario.
  • There are usually multiple strategies to successfully completing a scenario; these can be discussed on the scenario's discussion page or written down in an existing or additional section of this article.

To complete Dragon's Cove, players will need to finish the five roller coasters one by one and make money off the first, since it's most likely they'll run out before finishing all 5 of the required roller coasters. The best start off will be by finishing the Steel Roller Coaster, since its the easiest to get the excitement rating up (thanks to the Vertical Loops and coaster tracks going through it). It can easily be built underground. After that, players can open the park already, and build a path towards the ride (A sixth coaster, of the Shuttle Loop type, would be very clever and useful to keep money rolling in, especially near the entrance in the early stages of the scenario).

Building a Shuttle Loop near the entrance will increase the profits faster.

Now that the first coaster is opened, it should bring enough money to keep the park over debt ; but players are still well advised to build some gentle rides too in order to please the timid guests.

The order of finishing roller coasters to complete should be the following:

  • Steel Roller Coaster
  • Vertical Drop Roller Coaster
  • Suspended Roller Coaster
  • Suspended Looping Roller Coaster
  • Bobsled Roller Coaster

Players should remember to have many coaster tracks going through loops, since it increases the excitement rating a lot. Basic knowledge of physics will be required so that no ride gets too intense, otherwise the excitement rating drops very rapidly. The last three roller coasters are the trickiest to build, since they have high nausea and intensity ratings usually ; While the Bobsled coaster can crash off the track at hilltops taken too fast, which requires the layout to include a lot of helixes and therefore head out of the steel melee. The water area to the west of the map would prove perfect for the job, since it is difficult to access otherwise. Players should save the game before testing the pre-built coasters, especially in the original game. Players from OpenRCT2 can freely use the new "simulate" option (blue flag/light) and prevent crashes that way.

Close-up of the finished scenario.

It is very easy to run into financial trouble in this park, since the initial loan can only be doubled. Players should really try not to clutter other tracked rides in with the roller coasters, as this can make building the five roller coasters very difficult. Often, just having the coasters go through the hills and trees will make it exciting enough to meet the requirements.
