I would definitely suggest making some edits to the wiki when you have some time -- it gives the impression that you do care about the wiki and are able to dedicate some time to it once you do have a bureaucrat position. Generally, Community Central would also look at the existing bureaucrats' and admins' activity; if they've been inactive (usually >60 days of no edits), then you're more likely to get the position.
