It was based off the S&S manufactured thrill ride of the same name (S&S Sky Swat). Two models were built, the first was at the now defunct Six Flags AstroWorld, opened in 2003 as SWAT, when Six Flags Astroworld closed in 2005, the ride was relocated to Six Flags New England in 2006 as Catapult, and the second model opened in 2005 at UK's Thorpe Park as Slammer. Throughout it's operation, it suffered mechanical problems and downtime, one incident involved riders left stranded on the ride due to a mechanism in the ride malfunctioning, this caused the ride to be closed for most of the time. In 2013, rumors speculated the ride would be removed, this resulted the ride being removed from the park map for the 2013 season. In 2014, the ride was being tested suggesting it would be opening again. In 2015, it reopened for a brief time and was operating throughout the 2016 season.
