The Air Powered Vertical Coaster is a roller coaster in which the train is launched at speeds up a vertical spike of track, goes over the top, and down the other side. The ride can get very high excitement and intensity ratings and high nausea ratings most of the time if built correctly. The speed of launch ranges from 67 to 112 miles per hour, but when actually launched, a 78 mph launch usually turns out to be an 85 mph launch. To keep intensity and nausea in control, RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 recommends the train crest the spike at minimal speed. In RollerCoaster Tycoon's 1 and 3, it was possible to operate the ride without a complete circuit (In RollerCoaster Tycoon 1, this usually ends up a crash). |
