Thunderstorm Park/Scenario Guide

Remember:

  • There are usually multiple strategies to successfully completing a scenario; these can be discussed on the scenario's discussion page or written down in an existing or additional section of this article.

Since it rains a lot in Thunderstorm Park, players should start off the scenario by building an Information Kiosk. Not only will it lower the chances of guests getting lost, it will also help keep them happy in the rain. The umbrella cheat will be a lifesaver here.

Follows the important task of moving both prebuilt rides inside the pyramid, since they aren't rain-proof.

An interesting, but courageous bet, can be to switch Fire Flied into a dive tower rather than a space shot. The intensity might jump up, but it can be rewarding.

Once all that is done, the strategy will be to build mainly indoor and underground rides, as only these rides will attract guests during rain episodes. Of course, indoor rides (like the Merry-Go-Round, Haunted House, Monorail, Car Rides with pickup truck cars, Motion Simulator, etc.) have to be built outdoors, since they have no need to be inside the pyramid.

To build tracked rides completely inside the pyramid in RCT1, the player has to start building outside, tunnel in the pyramid and then remove the outside part. This tedious process has been rendered obsolete in RCT2 & OpenRCT2, thanks to the "Scenery Stacking" and "Tile Inspector" features these two games respectively offer.

A tracked ride needs at least 40% of its track to be underground to count as indoor ride. Of course, players should never forget to build stalls and bathrooms for the guests.
