Cheap and easy to build, but the track layout needs to be designed carefully, otherwise the cars can [[Crash|fly straight off the track]] on the hills. In [[RCT3]] however, crashes are not possible.
This ride is called Wooden Side-Friction Roller Coaster in the original [[RollerCoaster Tycoon]].

There is one operating instance of this ride left in North America in the state of Pennsylvania ([http://rollercoaster.wikia.com/wiki/Leap-The-Dips_(Lakemont_Park) Leap-the-Dips]), it is currently the oldest operating roller coaster in the world.
