To start, set the research funding to No Funding, because you get a lot of rides from the start. You should raise the price of each ride to about how much its excitement rating is (e.g. a [http://rct.wikia.com/wiki/Roller_coaster roller coaster] with a rating of 7.54 should cost $7.50). Consider replacing the Circus with a new one so the guests will pay more for it. To reduce nausea, set the Trebuchet Ride from Berserk mode to Beginner mode.

Sherwood Forest can easily be beaten in the first few months using only the rides already built at the beginning of the game. Set the junior coaster's price to about $6.50 and the mini golf to $3.70. The Ferris wheel and trebuchet ride can both be increased by about 50 cents. The circus ride can be left alone, as guests already do not ride it unless it is raining. With this set up, guests should still ride every ride in the park (other than the circus, as mentioned before), but the player will make tons more money. The $1,000 objective should be reached in only a month or two, depending on breakdowns and weather, etc.
